Prince’s finest moment

By  |

There’s a lot of sorrow mixed with a lot of love with Prince’s passing, and we wanted to share one of our favorite Prince moments.

He’s on stage with Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and other world-class musicians at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

The song starts and develops with these elite performers (1:00). They are killing it (1:45). So we think. Wait a minute – what was that glimpse of a red cowboy hat to stage left (2:10)? Never mind. Back to the show. That’s nice.

Wait for it…

3:28 – yesssssss Prinnnnnnnce

Start slow… Feeling like those other guys felt they had to invite the young purple one to the party but, uh oh, he just stole all the cute girls, lit your house on fire and is looking to ride his purple hovercraft into the sunset.

If you can’t sit through the whole video with the dramatic build-up and everything, well just jump to 3:28, you lazy bastard. That’s when the fire starts. Shred. Just shred.

Don’t miss 4:45 when he lays back on the security and keeps riffing.

If all you have is a guitar and no mic, just drop the guitar. Or throw it into the crowd and walk of the stage like you’re Prince.

We already miss you.
